Seeing your movie "Once Were Warriors" not only reminds me of my childhood; growing up with fear...but it reminds me of my late brother...he is the one that told me about this movie and how powerful it was. We are going to watch it as part of "Sobriety Awareness Month". I am an Inupiaq Eskimo, from Barrow, Alaska...I want to thank you for your courage in making this movie. It helped me in a lot of ways.

I HAVE always loved your character in "Once were warriors". my mother works in a domestic violence shelter and she sees first hand what domestic violence causes. The women who see this movie see themselves and see that there is hope for them. they can recognize there situation and you may not know it, but you help these women to become strong in their lives. Even across other side of the world, you have made a huge difference in many womens' lives. thank you very much for your bravery.

hey rena, just watched warriors again, first time for a while and realised its got to be one of the most powerful movies ive seen. so good to see something not glossed up. some of your scenes make my hair stand on end, the final"our people once were warriors" scene outside the pub is one of the best lines of dialogue ever. you are a legend, thanks for putting everything into a great kiwi movie. God bless-mark d.
